Pumpkin Patches Around the St. Croix Valley
With Halloween less than two weeks away (what?!), now is the best time to pick out that perfect pumpkin. There is nothing more "fall-esque" than sitting around drinking cider and roasting pumpkin seeds while carving out that spooky (or hilarious) pumpkin face. Here are five fun fall pumpkin patches around the St. Croix Valley.
A local favorite, Axdahl's farm is located on the corner of 75th St. and Manning. Stop by for their petting zoo, corn maze, and hayrides while picking out your own future jack-o-lantern from the hundreds of pumpkins they have.
Pick up your pumpkins from 9-7 on the weekdays or have a blast with their weekend activities from 10-5 on Saturdays and 11-5 on Sundays. Enjoy hayrides, a corn maze, gem mining, a bouncer, a silly string zone and a corn pit with over 1,500 bushels of grain. Located off of Highway 36, don't forget to take a peek at their selection of fall decor.
Located off of Keats Ave in Lake Elmo, Ziertman's Pumpkin Farm has pumpkins in all shapes in sizes from 2lbs to 200lbs. Take a picture of the kids on a tractor or feed the pet goats. Ziertman's Farm also has corn stalks, gourds, pure honey, squash, straw, and decorative corn. Open every weekend in October from 10am-dusk.
Hand-pick your pumpkin at the apple shed or take a weekend hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick out the best one. While you are there make sure you try one of their hand-dipped caramel apples or mouth-watering apple pies.
This weekend pick your own pumpkins, hang out with Sonny the donkey, feed the chickens, visit the goats and listen to live music at their Fall Apple Festival. Visit the country store for apples, fall decor, mums, and gourds. Whistling Well Farm is located two miles south of Afton State Park and open 9-6pm.
